Designation	Certification	Description
A+	A+	Awarded to individuals demonstrating multivendor hardware expertise.
CDIA	Certified Document Imaging Architect	CDIA candidates must demonstrate critical knowledge of all major areas and technologies used to plan, design, and specify a document imaging system.
i-Net+	i-Net+	Awarded to individuals demonstrating multivendor networking and TCP/IP client installation and configuration expertise.
Server+	Server+	This certification will deal with advanced PC hardware issues, such as RAID, SCSI, multiple CPUs, SANs - and more. There is currently nothing in the industry like this that is vendor neutral, and there is a broad range of support for this initiative, including core support by 3Com, Adaptec, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, EDS Innovations Canada, Innovative Productivity, Sybex, Marcraft, Heathkit and Course Technology.

 

Cisco

Designation	Certification	Description
CCDA	Cisco Certified Design Associate	Awarded to individuals demonstrating expertise with relatively simple networks.
CCDP	Cisco Certified Design Professional	Awarded to individuals demonstrating the expertise to design more complex networks based on Cisco LAN and WAN routers and LAN switches.
CCNA	Cisco Certified Network Associate	Earned by IT professionals demonstrating proficiency with traditional Cisco-based networks that predominantly include LAN and WAN routers and LAN switches.
CCNP	Cisco Certified Network Professional	Earned by IT professionals demonstrating their ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot more complex Cisco-based networks.
CCIE	Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert	A preeminent certification, CCIEs represent the highest-attainable certification level under Cisco Career Certifications and ideally represent at least two years of on-the-job experience, in addition to the knowledge associated with the CCNP level.

 

Lotus

Designation	Certification	Description
CLS	Certified Lotus Specialist	The Certified Lotus Specialist program recognizes a basic level of technical expertise.
CLP	Certified Lotus Professional	The Certified Lotus Professional program requires individuals to demonstrate expertise of a job function and a high level of technical knowledge.
CLI	Certified Lotus Instructor	The Certified Lotus Instructor program is directed toward technical training professionals who, through experience and expertise, have demonstrated their ability to present Lotus' authorized courseware in a professional and understandable format.
CLEI	Certified Lotus End-user Instructor	The Certified Lotus End-user Instructor is awarded to training professionals experienced in presenting Lotus' authorized end-user courseware.

 

Microsoft

Designation	Certification	Description
MOUS	Microsoft Office User Specialist	Candidate must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
MCP	Microsoft Certified Professional	Awarded to those demonstrating expertise with Microsoft products and technology.
MCP+I	Microsoft Certified Professional + Internet	Awarded to those demonstrating expertise with Microsoft technologies and the ability to secure, install, configure, and maintain servers with an Internet specialty, such as networking with TCP/IP or Internet Information Server.
MCP+S	Microsoft Certified Professional + Site Building	Awarded to those demonstrating expertise with Microsoft products and technology and the ability to plan, build, maintain, and manage Web sites using Microsoft technology.
MSS	Microsoft Sales Specialist	Received by individuals who prove their sales expertise and knowledge of Microsoft products and information technology.
MCSD	Microsoft Certified Solution Developer	Developers proving they acquired the skills to develop and design solutions using Microsoft technologies.
MCT	Microsoft Certified Trainer	Awarded to trainers demonstrating expertise with Microsoft Official Curriculum and the ability to instruct others.
MCDBA	Microsoft Certified Database Administrator	Earned by individuals proving their ability to implement and administer Microsoft SQL Server databases.
MCSE	Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer	A preeminent certification, MCSE credentials are awarded to those IT professionals demonstrating expertise with multiple Microsoft operating systems and the ability to plan, implement, maintain, and support information systems in a wide range of environments using Microsoft Windows NT Server and the Microsoft BackOffice server products.
MCSE+I	Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer + Internet	A preeminent certification, MCSE credentials are awarded to those IT professionals demonstrating expertise with multiple Microsoft operating systems and the ability to plan, implement, maintain, and support information systems in a wide range of environments using Microsoft Windows NT Server and the Microsoft BackOffice server products, with an added emphasis on Internet technologies.
MCSP	Microsoft Certified Solution Provider	Earned by sales channel organizations that employ a minimum of two MCPs and that can demonstrate competency with Microsoft technologies.

CDE	Certified Directory Engineer	Earned by IT experts who prove competency with industry-leading directories and directory-enabled solutions.
CNA	Certified Novell Administrator	Awarded to those demonstrating administrative expertise with Novell networking products.
CNE	Certified Novell Engineer	Awarded to IT professionals who prove a fundamental understanding of IT concepts, microcomputer platform environments, and local operating systems in addition to specialization in Novell technologies, including NetWare and GroupWise.
Master CNE	Master Certified Novell Engineer	A preeminent certification, Master CNEs must demonstrate competency in multiple skill sets and applications, including knowledge of design, implementation, infrastructure, and network management.
CNI	Certified Novell Instructor	Awarded to instructors demonstrating knowledge of Novell technologies.
Master CNI	Master Certified Novell Instructor	Awarded to instructors demonstrating knowledge of Novell technologies, while also requiring a high level of instruction and technical expertise.
CIP	Certified Internet Professional	Awarded to those IT professionals demonstrating cross-platform, vendor-independent skills important to Internet Business Strategists, Web Designers, Intranet Managers, Web Developers, and Internet Architects.
CNS	Certified Novell Salesperson	Extended to IT channel partners proving their expertise with Novell technologies.

 

Oracle

Red Hat

Designation	Certification	Description
RHCE	Red Hat Certified Engineer	RHCE certification indicates that an IT professional has passed a realistic performance-based lab exam that tests his/her ability to: install and configure Red Hat Linux; understand limitations of hardware; configure basic networking and file systems; configure the X Windowing System; configure basic security, set up common network (IP) services, carry out basic diagnostics and troubleshooting, and perform essential Red Hat Linux system administration.
